Samandar Manganir
Samandar Manganiar
was born in
1971 in the
village of Jhaphli Kalan [Barmer] in the western desert region of
Rajasthan. He belongs to a family of hereditary professional musicians
and was initiated in music from his very early childhood. He learnt the
traditional art of singing and playing the Khartal from his father Late
Shree Ustad Saddique Manganiar. He has mastered a large repertoire of
the traditional songs of the Manganiar community which he renders with
great verve and sensitivity . he has come to be known as the most
outstanding folk singer and Khartal player of this region. Mr. Samandar
has been a praetioner of folk & Sufi music and later attained fame in
the field of creative Music. For his compositions various recordings
made for Music today, All India Radio and for the films he is Recognized
today as a leading Music composer of Rajasthani & Sufi music. Samandar
participated in the prestigious About 33 country of the world like
America, Canada, U.K., France, Germany, Nederland, Belgium Spain,
Israel, Russ, Italy Denmark Switzerland, Etc folk & gipsy and
International India film festival . .he has also accompanied many
leading artistes of Rajasthani folk music and has been associated with
out standing contemporary musicians, both of India and Europe . he
Received several youth culture Award 1994, Hanumant Singh Award 2000 and
Music world series 2003.
